So i cant start the car or move it at all and it has a full tank of gas is it still possible. To change the fuel pump or is there to much gas that it would like fly out all over the place or would the gas stay still because the car wont move im on a hill and there's a basketball hoop blocking the front so its kinda stuck there. Because i don't want that at all.

so how did you get the pump out, i was working on the parts car and got started on the fuel pump. i took off a plastic ring of some sort and it wiggles alot but doest lift out. i seen two 10mm nuts but not sure if that needs to be undone.

there is a metal ring around the top with like notches on it take a Flathead screwdriver and a mallet or hammer put it on the notch and tap ring to counter clock wise pop it off then pull the plastic part up and all the way out keep going take gas sender gauge thing out. keep going the wire will stop and if you look in the trunk towards the front with a flash light you can see the pump down in the corner right side. to get this out you gotta reach down in the tank make sure all power is unplugged first. and you ground yourself because them fumes damn scary. but turn pump counter clockwise and it should come out. then you take it all out it should be a small skinny thing. im upgrading mine to a bigger Bosch should flow pretty nice. im just
out about the whole positive and negative under a insulator boot in gas pretty much. but i heard its not a conductor

yeah i am down to the actual pump, so give it a twist counterclockwise eh? i will give that a whirl. it is just a backup part to stock before i scrap the old v8. a guy i know's car would stall going around a corner, ended up being an exposed wire for the fuel pump inside of the tank that was grounding out when he would go fast enough around the corner. he is still alive.

so if the bare wire is covered good the copper part then it wont short out if its sealed tight between the terminal. because im installing a new pump and its under the gas and if the wires have the ring terminals and are sealed tight can i just drop it in the tank like that and it would be fine ?
