Hey, I haven't been on in a while, but i have some more of my simple questions for you more Audi Advanced. On my 89 100 my fuel pump is making a horrible noise, humming, and i believe it needs to be replaced. Not only is it humming, but i have had a significant loss of power. So, does it need to be replaced, and do any of you know where i can find one new or used for near the $100 price range? Also, how difficult a job is it and can you describe to me what it entails?
Next, what are good struts to replace the factory ones with when you are on a bit of a tight budget? Thank you, and any help is very much appreciated!!

Loud humming all of a sudden?
Then either your fuel pump may be dying or you have a clogged fuel filter that is causing your fuel pump to work harder...
Replacement struts? Get Boge Automatics. They're OEM replacement struts for the 5000, etc...
I think they're $50-60 a piece...can't remember.

I am in the same predicament. So...I called Champion (I know AutoZone's got 'em for the same price, but they'll have to be ordered) and bought a pair of shocks for 60bux. Both sides. They are Gabriel shocks and they are "just fine". Not great, but this will return the car to it's original "Americanized" condition for very cheap. I was not able to find them on Gabriel's site direct, but had much luck ordering them through the above generic parts stores. I hope that helps.
Made in Venezuela baby! :>l
