where is the cheapest place to purchase a fusible link or can I buy one premade from somewhere? i'd like to install one just in case the next problem area strikes.

Are you thinking of using a fusible link for the radiator fan? Not sure what amperage the 5k fan is, but the one on the Quattro V8 is 80 amps. Honda fusible links are avaible from Pep Boys, but it is only rated 60 amps. If your fan is rated at less than 60 amps I would go to a honda dealer and get the fuse holder and install the 60 amps fuse. You can also go to Audi and buy the holder for a Audi 200.

Default Local Autozone, Kmart, etc has them...

I used the Littelfuse brand's PAL Auto Link.

They have them available in a couple of different amperage ratings. I used 80a on both of my cars.

70a would work also...

Make sure to put it on the negative side of the fan wiring...

These things are cheap. 2-3 dollars a piece.

Hi,

50 amps is strong enough for the 500 W. fan used in every gasoline 5K/100/200. Only some diesel engines came with a stronger 700 W. fan.
500 : 12 = 41,66 A. Next bigger fuse is 50 amps.
But 60 or 70 amps. is OK. In cause of shortcut even an 80 amps. fuse will burn....
