ok, so even though i got a new engine for the 5K (Well, new to me, 130,xxx on it) for a song (300) my mechanic wanted a grand to do the swap......ok.....but then he started to run into problems....and it started to take more time...and more time.......and while this was happening, the car was broken into, and my stereo was nabbed, and the subs, and the new rear speakers....so i decided it was a good time to cut my losses......

luckily my mechanic had a newer audi he's been trying to unload for about a month now. it's a 93 100cs quattro, auto (oh welll....) but with a freshly rebuilt engine (with 10 miles on it) and recently fixed electrical gremlins like central locking, climate control, new struts, etc etc. so he said, i'll take 500 off the price of this one if you sign the 5KTQ over to me....lowering the price of the 100 to 3500.

so now i need to know.....what are the 'issues' with these cars? anyone? yeah.......

I have both and the 100cs quattro will be much slower but rides about the same.

Was the timing belt done 10K ago?
The 92 and 93 had head gasket issues that the rebuild should have taken care of.
Otherwise a lot of the same problems but much less electrical and door handle issues.

rebuild is 20 miles old....TB was changed w/ the rebuild....
