Default got a shock from hell

i took my car to get inspected the coil ironically went at the garage, ironically the mechanics wanted to buy it for 300 after they told me it would take over 3000 to inspect, and ironically after i said no the car would not jump or start. they had to push it out of the garage even though 25 minutes before it drove in. I am mad.
so i get it towed home and try to get it to fire. No spark but i get a buddy to turn it over while i hold the coil wire with a covered pair of pliers. now he turned it i leaned in to see if i could see a spark and all of a sudden .
no spark from wire but boy did i jump
it felt like a couple secs of whammmm.
so what gives ? is the coil shot?
I haven't yet check the resistances don't have tools.
But my theroy is if the coil is givin the wire enough juice to make me jump like a little kid.
why no spark?
but i have read that the coil wire may be shot?
any info would be great.
anyways i am pissed at the garage. it worked then it did not. and worse the crank sensor bolt was loosened off i assume at the garage. so would that affect the starting.
turns over no fire but definite current somewhere.
anywho let me know

Default sounds suspicious to me.

I would definitely tighten that crank sensor bolt. It'll probably fire right up. Then I would report the garage to the BBB.

i guess the irony is that
the sob drove like a dream prior, we were going 110k on back roads then drove to the shop.
it is irritating because i knew that the trans mounts were going but as far as actual ignition and running that was not a concern. i did call the dmv. they are looking into it. But here is the kicker. they did not fill out any paperwork for inspection nor did they put a sticker on it as a rejection.
So i complained saying that if they "buy it for 300" they would have probable just inspected it.
the dmv did say that it was suspicious but might not have been illegal. the garage said the only thing good was the tires and the gas tank.
the person i bought the car from had it in march go in for a pre inspection in october. they only thing it needed then was a rear caliper greased.
so i am alittle angry
