on my wife's old 86 5K, it's harder than hell to get the shifter in or out of park. it is definitely not the "put the brake on" solenoid as I held that out of the way. is there some kind of detent on the transmision on the other end of the cable? i have a new cable that i never got around to installing, but i am not sure that is the problem.
it has absolutely nothing to do with the handle of mechanism that pushes the rod up and down with the handle button.
there was a bunch of coins in there and i couldn't reach them, but they weren't anywhere near the shift mechanism and i'm not that hard up to take it all apart to get rich. besides, now they are all greasy from the spray grease i put on the mechanism.
