Hey there I have a serious problem This morning when i started my car it started up and the rpms kept on climbing higher and higher... (worst thing is it wouldn't stop)
Now i was smart enough to say okay something is wrong and turned the car off. Under closer investigation i found that there were two things that caused me to wrinkle my forehead. One is the rubber mount that is connected below the idle stabiliser assembly is definitely cracked (see picture [red]) then i noticed that the throttle /accelerator assembly (see picture [yellow]) sits rather loose and that the hose containing a spring seems to be somewhat stuck.
I need to know what this weird part is called that sits below the idle stabilizer assembly before i can even star replacing it as there is NO description of it in the haynes manual (go figure). Has anyone had the throttle assembly stuck or sitting like this before? if so how did you fix it? Thanks for your help
Philipp

That part that has the rip in it, is a engine breather system junction. Technically called a "valve housing".
Not sure what engine you have, as you didn't say, but it is one of two items for a FWD 5k. Next time, tell us what engine or at least what year your car is (only way I knew your car was FWD, was due to the throttle linkage, which on FWD/AWD 5spd cars use a cable, automatics have the rod/linkage setup and are only FWD).
KZ engine ('84-86) - 034 103 247B
NF engine ('87-88) - 034 103 247E

I got a replacement off ebay for a good price
Email the seller of this item and tell them what you got. I got the tee and the breather hose for just the price of the tee from audi ($36.00 shipped for my 200TQ)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2475526415</a

If that is the case, the # is 035 103 247D...Did the '84 still have the old WU, or did it get a KZ? I thought the KZ came in with the '84's but I could be wrong...And if it is a WU, that part isn't available from most normal vendors. The KZ part may still work though. He can always try Wendy (Snolvr8 on ebay). Would be cheaper than the dealer!
