Default Help with a leak :) 89 200 TQ 10v

I have a leak that appears to be dripping from CV joint area on the left front axle. I can't identify the oil but I'm thinking gear oil? What is strange is that it doesn't appear to be coming directly from the around the axle flange area. The oil is hitting the drivers footwell area, but the dripping oil is directly down from the CV joint bolts.

Is it common it to have the front differential final drive seal fail? and if so wouldn't it show signs of the oil coming out from around the flange area?

Hydraulic fluid levels OK, brake fuid OK, engine oil OK.

Any other possible sources I need to check? The clutch cylinders would leak brake fliud right?

TIA!

Default Sounds like a PS rack leak, mine does the same.

It appears to be a tranny leak, but is actually the rack leaking fluid onto the tranny.

Default I've had leaking hose ends at the Pentosin reservoir

The Pentosin will drip unto the driver side inner CV joint and drive flange.

Replacing and tightening the hose clamps didn't stop thye leaks. I finally stopped all Pentosin leaks by replacing all of the hydraulic hoses.

Gear oil should have a distinctive odor different from other oils. There are seals behind the output flange to which the CV bolts that can fail.
