Default Higgins has been sold . .

So Higgins the '83 5000S Turbo Diesel is sold. That's right, no more diesel. I had recently decided I really needed a (dependable) wagon, and the '89 Avant I've got is just not worth rescuing. Well, I was having breakfast with a couple of friends, and let them know I was selling the diesel. My friend Tony LITERALLY pulls out cash at the table, throws an envelope of bills at me and says "it's mine - I've wanted that car since I met you, and my ride just died". Done deal, holy crap!

It's sad, but I think the car is going to a loving home. He's not a real wrench turner, but does have respect for the car, and has good relationships with quality mechanics in town.

It all happened so fast!

Default Tell Tony to keep this web group in mind....

he may have a good relationship with a quality mechanic, but if he's using the car as a daily driver things are going to break that the mechanic may not be able to source. It bugs me to no end when I hear about another excellent Type 43 being sent to the crusher due to the breakage of a part that a mechanic says costs "about $500", when in actual fact it costs more like $10 but is hard to find.
....It's also sad to see another nice Type 43 drop off our radar.....
Cheers!
