When mine failed, it read 16 Kilohms at 80 deg F

I forget exactly what effect the out of range high resistance had, as when I bought the car over two years ago it was just one of many problems that I uncovered. I *think* that it caused a high idle RPM, but there were so many other problems that I could be wrong. I spent days just getting the sensors' outputs back to nominal.

....and you checked the wires to the ECU?
They have a habit of getting brittle and breaking - that's what happened in my case - moving the connector broke a bad repair job by the previous owner.
