high idle still
Im driving my 89 200tqa and coming to a stop it justs starts idling high, up and down between 1k- 2500 rpms. I checked the rod on the cruise control, even took it off, throttle cable isnt stuck goes all the way back shut, unplugged the isv, no diff at all. Ran the car and pulled the oil cap to see if it dies, nope. Keeps on running the same, bad. I read that if it doesnt die when pulling cap, that i have a vacuum leak.??? When im driving and i go to shift, it jumps in between shifts, so if i shift at 3k it jumps like another 1k. Please help, thx

Re: high idle still
Well i cleaned isv with no difference, pressurized the throttle body with compressed air, the only leak i find is the small hole in the throttle body. Is it supposed to release air at that spot, small rubber nipple on the outside of that hole? All hoses are in excellent shape, like new. Nothing is brittle or dry rotted on this car. Ill check codes tomm, any other ideas? Sensors or what? Thx

Re: high idle still
Ok so you've cleaned the ISV but are the seals toast? Try blowing thru either end, if it flows then it's toast. After that it's every single rubber hose connected to the intake, crankbreather, wastegate, turbo etc. Tedious but has to be done. How's your throttle switch?

Re: high idle still
If i blow in one end, just feel it come back out same end, doesnt go through. How do i check the throttle switch?, would make sense as when i change gears and let off, idle just rockets up.

You've got to have some kind of vac leak but try unplugging the throttle switch
and see what happens. Any chance the airscrew on the throttle body is wide open?
Did this start up all of a sudden or what?

Is there supposed to be a vent of somesort in the tb? that is the only place i hear and feel air coming out. What about the intercooler, if the end caps blow, break would that cause this?
It is chipped, w/o strapped ic.
