Default How many people in here have a navy blue Audi 5K?...

I might want to sell my car since it doesn't start (some stupid thing that I can't figure out)
but I've only seen one other navy blue 5K so far where I've gone! My question is is the color rare or something? the "bamboo" color is played out here in RI, I think I saw like 5 cars with that color including mine (5 is a lot considering theres like 10 audi 5Ks in all of RI lol)

Thanks

Default Not I said AudiSport4000...but..

I just saw one about an hour ago, it pulled up next to me, older guy driving it. Looked like an 84 or 85, as it had the quad beam setup for lights.

Default I had one

I had a dark blue '86 a few years ago. Seems like just after the Civil War. The blue was used on the lower line cars because it was not metallic. I think the color was shared with VW. Senna, there are at least 10 5K's in Henry's Junkyard, Woonsockett, alone.

From North Providence, take 146 to the 295 interchange. Hop on route 99 to where it meets 122. Take 122 into and through Woonsockett. Henry's is a few hundred yards into Massachusetts, technically it is in Blackstone. I don't know of any way to get there, except through Woonsockett. It was recently bought by Millis Industries, so it is now Pick-a-Part and cheap. The Audis are at the far right, rear. Mixed in with the Mercedes. Henry's has "stuff", even a '48 Bentley. This is how I keep my Dodges supplied, that is a story for which the world is not yet prepared.
Don't be confused by the 20 or so Mercedes that you see when you enter, just keep going. P.S. my current project is a Chevy powered 280SE, so leave them alone.
If you touch anything on the Dodges, or the '65-66 Chevies, your life may be measured in days.

Default And I thought I was protective of my sources...

I used to putz around with Datsun 510's (the original classic ones, not the late 70's watered down imitation). I knew where all the junkyard cars were, and discovered then if you did not bathe, wore the worst shop clothes you could find and talked in clipped sentences/grunts, the price would magically go down.

Used to get pissed if someone would pull parts from _my_ junkyard cars.

Hey Tom, how about a Chevy powered MB with a supercharger (heh, heh, he's doomed now).

Default No supercharger.

Steve, like every project, it grows the more you look at it. I decided to go for the TPI and the overdrive transmission. Aftermarket wiring harnesses make this easy and it already has a fuel injection fuel pump.
I've looked at that awful swing axle rear and have decided to use a 3.8S rear I have hanging around. It seems close. That may prolong the project unless I want mismatched wheels. I will need to sign up again for "Adult-ed" at the local trade school. They have the best equipment and it is only $85.00 for three months. I recommend this.
The front end is also of antique design. I have spoken to Fat Man Fabrications. They can fix me up with a Mustang front suspension. That would give me good power steering, r&p, big brakes, coil overs and anti-dive. However, estimates are now exceeding $1600.00.
I only paid $800.00 for the car. P.S., this is a simple swap. Just fabricate motor mounts and a disk to mate the Chevy driveshaft with the MB chuck. If you use a carbureted Chevy, try to find an "S" model without the Eisenspritzer (that translates to "iron spitzer", I must have forgotten a word) Or figure out a pressure reducer. The MB power steering pump will mount to the Chevy. However, that seems a third world solution.
I have been a sucker for navy blue 280SE's ever since I saw the closing scene of "The Exorcist".(then again, there is that black Charger R/T in "Bullit") Really getting OT here.
