Toxcheap:
I predict more smoking will occur, it's just physics. WRT LT1's, every quattro enthusiast should drive one installed in a quattro to put "I5 turbo" anything in perspective. Then, you start looking at summit racing, and for less than half the price of 20vt RS2 bits, you have 400+v8 hp at the wheels.

Even with the mildly modified LT1 quattro in the 5ktq, the bulletproof 016 became the weak link. Amazing what happens when LT1 torque/hp can actually get to the ground.

Not to take anything away from a 13 second quarter mile. It makes me laugh almost, but not quite, as much as driving the LT1Q did. For different reasons too.

The first and last pictures are actually LS1's. Come up against a properly driven LS1 and you will see taillights. No flames intended, but when you're actually able to get the power to the ground, you'll be at the other end of that butt kicking.

Dude that is so much bull, I've raced at half a dozen different tracks. Against dozens of these cars, and that silver one was modified and ran faster than that C5. You want to beat us buy a Z06. Because that's the only one in the game right now! And not for long either.

I've been listening to excuses and claims like that for four years now (it even inspired my plates "TOXCHP").
I'm not cocky, just consistent!

Scott,
You still don't make any sense!
You just told Goomaster It would cost him almost 10,000 dollars to put a LT1 in a 5000Q, now you're comparing V8 parts to RS2 parts for value, yeah V8 parts are cheaper but what about the initial 10,000 dollars investment.
The more you write to me, the more I understand why you couldn't get a CIS 5K over 300HP!

PS: Ever make so much power in a 5k when you shift into second it breaks the front mount. (not the rubber, the mount on the motor)

It's easy to be consistent, but don't think for one minute that engine makes the car slow. I know of several people who run high 12's stock, bone stock on their LS1's.

Notice I say LS1's and not LT1's. It's pretty easy to be consistent with an AWD car. Not to take anything away from your accomplishments, but all you have to do is rev it up and dump the clutch and you're gone. It takes some very qualified feet to get an LS1 car in the 12's due to immense torque, but it can be done.

And, yes, you are quite cocky. The only thing you've posted since you've gotten on this site is how great CIS is, and no body knows what they're talking about when they remove it for EFI, and how you've beaten all these great and fast cars. I have no problem with anything that you say. It's just how you say it.

Listen, I'm all about making these cars fast, and you've done a fine job with yours. Instead of saying how great you are and fast your cars are, why don't back up your claims with a little insight into how you did it? I've read your posts and have gleaned little but "Throw an NF head on the car and shim the FPR."

I guess you want it to be your little secret, and that's great, but don't wave it out in front of everybody like a carrot to donkey and say "Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, you can't guess why I'm fast!" "I can beat all these fast cars, and I'm not going to tell you how because then you'll all be as fast as me." Because that's what you sound like everytime you post.

Default Valve seals et al.

TOXCHEAP,

I have a V8 with a 3.6L. Its going in the shop soon to get the valve seals done....any thoughts on simple mods to get a few more HP? With 275k kilo's on the clock, I doubt It's producing the 240HP it once boasted.

Cheers,
Phil

Chris,
It didn't start out this way. And in no way am I saying CIS is all that, it sure isn't.
And modifying it requires more than than shimming the FPR.
Matter of fact, now that we've reached a couple fuel goals where going to be reducing the pressure and see how it affects performance.
But people like this Scott, tell us 300 is max for CIS without ever testing the capacities of the CIS unit. It took us three years to stop listening to what people were saying and do some tests for ourselves and the equipment we built was kinda costly.
And now after testing the car, we have qshipq contesting our accomplishments with equations that even in his own variables don't make sense but look technical.
Why should I share my hard work with someone like that?
Make his life easier, the funny thing is (and this is only my belief) he wouldn't be contesting it if he hadn't already set limitations on it.
Like I said in the beginning It didn't start out this way, I wanted to share some info that's why I signed up.
