Default Idle switch problems

The idle on my NF is inconsistent: steady 800 rpm or 1500 rpm and most times loping between 1000 rpm and 2000 rpm. Also after lifting to change gears, the throttle responds about 2-3 seconds after I have actually stepped on it.
At first it only happened when the ambient temperature was below freezing but now it happens all the time.
I ran the thing for codes as instructed in the Bentley and the only code it threw out was: "2121 - Idle switch stuck closed or defective idle switch wiring".
Repair instruction: Check and repair wiring or adjust idle switch"
Wiring to both ECU's is fine.
The connecter (receptacle) for the idle switch has one cable that leads to to the full-throttle switch and the second to the idle switch.
Well, my problem is that the idle switch cable seems to go right INTO the throttle body on the underside. I can't find a switch in the same sense as how the full-throttle switch sits on top of the throttle body.
Is this idle switch actually INSIDE the TB or is it integral with the TB?
The local jobber parts place has no listing so do I need to call the dealer for an idle-switch or an entire throttle body?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Default Re: Idle switch problems

In my 100 with NF and 4speed automatic transmission idle switch is inside of the throttle switch. I have a spare, but looks like you have manual quattro car.

Default Naturally aspirated idle switches

IIRC, on the naturally aspirated engines, the idle switch, which is identical to the WOT switch, is mounted to a bracket and hangs beneath the throttle body, out of sight. You'll need to remove parts to access it. A small mirror on a stick and flashlight will be handy.

I'd search this forum and www.audifans.com for BTDT.
