Alright so just for kicks I finally got home to put my ignition switch in. Just to make sure that the car would start. I was wondering if the car will start with the ignition switch out of the car? I plugged in the new one and turned the switch, but nothing happened. I couldn't get any response and my dash still never turned on. Any suggestions?

Did you replace the entire ignition switch or just the electrical section at the back end of it?

Just the electrical side.

So it's highly possible the mechanical part has failed. Your original electric part may be OK???

The electric side isn't installed all the way. I just plugged it into the harness and turned the switch. The mechanical side is completely out of the loop. Any suggestions?
