Default Mechanical climate control after getting really mad at it !

AC has been blowing HOT out of the defroster after it was working fine a few days ago. I looked for vacuum leaks and everything as '19845000S' suggested (thanks by the way!) Probably could have nailed it but I had to drive home in traffic 95 degrees out. Got really mad at the climate control before I left, simply went in the dash through the glove compartment ripped the temperature control off its servo and brought it into the glove compartment, ripped the defroster/ dash vent control off its servo, and brought a wire connected to that door into the car. Must better this way, now it works and does what I want it to In this case nice cooold air straight in the cabin. When I want heat or defrost, takes a second to switch it.

Default Same problems sometimes.

My AC clutch is dead, so no cold air regardless, but on some very hot days, the climate control just insists on pumping full heat into the cabin.
The CC head is OFF! But the radiator fan would just start running on low speed, and heat would just start blowing through the defrost vents or dash vents.
Go figure!
I've replaced the CC head with a new one, but a year later, the same symptoms pop up. Must be a wiring harness or sensor short...that may have screwed up the workings of the CC head. I've observed, if sun light is shining on the CC head on very hot days, the problem occurs. Maybe the circuits are overheated and it goes berzerk.

I wish we had the manual controls here in the US/Canada, like those available in Europe.
