Default More on the hydraulic system

The leaky plug on my newly rebuilt steering pump has miraculously stopped.

However, my brake light came on today. Pentosin is good, brake fluid is good, hand brake off and functioning smoothly. The car steers & stops just great now, and the pump is seamlessly quiet.

Is it correct to assume that means the pressure is inadequate, or the pressure switch is bad? Bad "bomb"?

There might be air in the system but I'm pretty sure the air will work itself out.

Default agree, there could be some air in the system.........that will clear itself out....

check the brake fluid reservoir level to see if it is filled.

If it is a bad bomb, you would notice poor braking performance. You don't mention that, so don't think that is your problem.
