Default My first audi

Hey guys I just bought my first audi about a week ago. Its a 1991 200 20vt quattro and so far im lovin it. its got 212xxx miles on it and runs great but sometimes i can feel it clip out when boosting through 2nd and 3rd gear. It runs really strong normally and I can say that maybe i can feel it happen once or twice a day.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? Its running 1.7 bars but the clip out happens before that.
Also would i see good gains going up to a 1.9 bar wastegate spring? Or would there need to be any tuning required?

Thanks in advance
-D

Where are you located? First thing I'd do is check the fault codes. Most likely a small boost leak common spots to check are the throttle body hose and the intercooler to metal cross pipe connection. Pressure testing the intake track is the easiest way to find out. Also make sure you are running the correct plugs and narrow tip distributor rotor. Adding a 1.9 spring without a set of chips won't really do any good. Some sites that may interest you. http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/troubl.../20vboost.html

Im located in northern Co. I didnt think it had any codes but from reading on the links you provided it seems as if my check engine light has been removed... lol. I drove it around a lot yesterday and after fillinf it up again it hasnt been doing it anymore. I have a friend who has the same car and he says he can help me remove the n75 valve to run a little more boost. Is this an easy mod?

It may be an "easy" mod but in no way would I recommend it. Sounds like your friend is suggesting you swap your ECU controlled wastegate frequency valve n75 for a manual boost controller? I suggest you look into a chipset if more boost is what you are after. Since you're in CO you may want to contact Steve Eiche http://www.shadetreesoftware.com/ about a chipset.
