Default Need help with front speaker Bose Amps

Car: 200 20v

I tried re-soldering the caps on my origional amps... one worked for a bit the other one never came back to life. I got some shipped out to me but they don't seem to be the same. My amps (ones pictured) have a plug connector which plugs directly to the amp halfway down the wire that connects the speaker unit to the car. The other amps do not. It looks like where the plug connector should be on the new amps is hard wired in. Also the heat syncs are not the same. My amps have a full shield and the new (to me) amps have two circle holes for the two big caps to pop through.

If I get the speakers that went to the new amps do you think they will work in my car? Any ideas where these other amps came from?

Just when I finally thought I had all the Bose issues sorted out...

TIA

-Kev

Default Re: Need help with front speaker Bose Amps

The new (to you) amps you just got are an earlier version. Early 90-91 or 92 V8 & 200 20v amps. The
ones you have are the later ones 93-94 v8 & the S4/6. So looks like you got the speaker recall in your 200 20V if you have the plug in ones.

You should go to the dealer & get another set. Bring the ones in the pic not the hardwired ones that are new (to you). But
if the new (to you) ones work use them.

Once again I received a recall letter from the dealer to replace my Bose speakers for free. I replaced them long time ago with the aftermarket ones. So, go to the dealer and check if you are eligible for the recall.
