Default Howdy Arthur...

welcome to the North American type44 forum first of all.

About the needle ...do you have a series 1 or series 2 type44?

SERIES 1 (AUDI 5000/ 100/200) 1982-1987
SERIES 2 (AUDI 100/200) 1989-1991

the series one had the cable driven speedo which would do this when the cable got week or rusted..

I have never heard about it one a series two though...

Default Solder joint problem will return...

I also had this common annoying problem with the 100/200 type44 electronic speedometer.
The joint will eventually break again from vibration.
I replaced the 4 rigid pass-thru pins with wires.
I routed them from the inner circuit boards to the exterior and soldered them to their destinations on the outer board. Thus, the connections are now immune to vibration.
The problem hasn't returned.

i talked to scott even ordered the bulbs(very nice guy), since couple of mine are don't work. He told me that with seat heaters, usually actual seat heaters go. Which makes me sad because i don't have tool to test it.
thanks for the direction.
