i'm glad i didn't break the fuel line. the banjo bolt was a PITA to get off though, sucker was on there tight. no real noticable change except it appeared to rev a little faster, it did take a few cranks to get the engine started, i imagine all the fuel had to make its way through the filter.

You be amazed at how many people break that fuel line trying to change that filter...
Also, you are correct about the fuel repressurizing...
