Default New Guy,1988 Audi 5000 turbo quattro Olympic Edition Station Wagon

alright, so i just bought my first Audi.
its an 1988 Audi 5000 turbo quattro Olympic Edition Station Wagon
always driving fast civics and lifted jeeps but saw this deal and couldnt pass it up. dont know too much about it yet, but 5-speed manual transmission, with a full time all wheel drive system, and it also has lockable differentials for the front and the rear wheels. new clutch, the engine is from a 1991 audi 200 turbo, the alternator has 140 amperes and is from a BMW 735i. The ball joints, control arms and tie rod ends have been changed, along with the front and rear struts.

sounds like a nice car. very very odd looking though.
ill post some pics of it as soon as a drive it home.
but other than that. how are these cars? any issues i should know about? who else here has one?
very excited to start driving the car in the winter.

Boost and vacuum leaks are common. Sounds like much of the major stuff has been done. Search this site when you have problems, most things have been figured out in the ten+ years this site has been around.

Oh, and post pics for us .

A chip and wastegate spring will get you over 200hp. But make sure your engine management is in perfect shape first, or you'll have problems. But yeah, easy to get more power out of these beasts .

My favorite parts sources:
http://www.autohausaz.com/ - new parts for cheap
http://www.sjmautotechnik.com/ - used parts, new parts, and TONS of technical and troubleshooting info
http://www.034motorsport.com/ - awesome aftermarket shop for Audis

CAR IS HOMEE
had a long drive to get used to it too.
theres a few kinks in it:
-idles low and sometimes will stall
-oil pressure light is on?
-abs is acting up

but other than that i love the car!

anyone know where i can get a owners or service manual for it? either purchase or onlinr download?
thanks, will post some pics up ASAP
