Default new method to test fuel pressure discovered!!! (And need help)

Ok well i found a new way to test the fuel pressure on my 5000cstq, i took off one of the fuel lines going to the intake and threaded a 1/8in-27 NPT x 1/4in-18 NPT into the socket on the fuel distributor and then my gauge on top of that. lol the box says it wont work on CIS well i outsmarted them!! See below:

Anyway my fuel pump tested out at 60 pounds with the toggle switch on (I have my fuel pump rigged to a toggle switch), now my problem is i cant get the car to start and stay running, the car will fire but then die immediately. I'm thinking i may have a massive vac leak because when i first tried this test by crank the car the gauge didn't do anything, then with the key on and the fuel pump still going and went under the hood and pushed up on the leveler plate and that's when the pressure went up to 60. Any thoughts why it wont raise when i crank the engine? and btw it was my friend who figured the idea out about the fuel test so he gets credit for it i guess.

Default

IIRC, you need to measure system AND control pressures on CIS.

Default My guess is vacuum leak

Since moving the metering plate produces fuel pressure to the injector lines I would look at vacuum leaks. MM hose, the dumb breather hose on the top of the valve cover, etc. It could also be an out-of-adjustment metering plate but I would look carefully at vacuum leaks first.

you have tested the system pressure not the control pressure by putting gauge whre you have control pressure is higher than it shoud be so car is to lean to start you have to tee into this line to get car to run and check control pressure

60 psi is LOW main pressure and HIGH control pressure, neither one will let the engine fire up and stay running. New fuel pump time.
