Default Now what the hell?

this is really strange guys. so I'l try to explain as best I can:

driving at slow speeds (under 15mph) with the wheel slightly turned to the right, the steering wheel will jerk to the right everytime the wheels make a couple revolutions?

its not a shake, its like someone quickly takes the wheel and jerks it out of my hand. and its not a back and forth jerk either. it pulls to the right, stays there, then pulls again a second later.

I figured it was ice buildup on the fender and with the wheels turned they hit the ice. so I kicked off the "Fenderbergs" and it seemed to help a little but the problem is stil there.

For the life of me I cant imagine what there is supsension wise that would make the wheel turn to the right when the tires turn a couple revolutions? I had the car up in the air last night and turned it by hand slowly with the wheel turned. and sure enough I could feel the wheel getting tight to turn at the same time it pulled a little to the side.

all my suspension parts were replaced last fall.

Could this be a center diff problem? my diffs have been locked for a few days due to the weather.

any advice would help here guys.

Default I had a sim problem w/ the change of tranny. Remember a prev post I had about the wheels skipping?.

my difs would not disengage, what I think was a change in final drive ratios due to the differant trans installed. Anyway, if you drive slow and some else observes from the side of the car (they have to squat), the drive shaft was violantly whipping with great distortion! My center rubber bushing was ruined then. Hope that helps!

could it be the CV?

Default You mean you put the wrong trans. in?

I would think that if this was driveshaft related that it would do it all speeds. especially getting worse the faster I went.

Default Sound as though your

brakes are locking up your right front wheel which is causing your car to pull to the right. Didn't you had problems with your brakes earlier??

The other case is that the brakes are on, but you only feel it when driving slow.

Default Re: Sound as though your

good call! I'd check the carrier bracket pins for free movement.

Things that I've experienced that are similar:

1. After having new tires mounted on my BBS's the wheel weights rubbed against the G60s!
2. Once winter a chunk of ice was adhered to the rim
throwing off balance and striking the brakes.
3. shifted belt in the tire.
4. loose strut cap.

I also read another owner experienced a slight pulse as you described after new suspension work. It would happen when her accelerated but stopped once coasting/off throttle. It turned out to be camber. Once corrected the steering wheel no longer did it.
Our cars are very sensitive to wheel alignment settings.

Default thanks. guys. Let me explain this better

It feels like someone has grabbed the wheel and tugged it to the right abrubtly (steering wheel turns maybe an inch or two), then lets go and the wheel corrects itself then tugs again and lets go and the wheel corrects itself again.

its not a steady "pulling"

does this make since?

Could this but what Paranormal experts would call an "Audigeist"

"they're here........" lol

I'd still check the brake first. if the rotor has a slight warp to it, and the caliper is a bit seized, the outer pad could be contacting the high spot and the brakes drag each revolution at that point.

The other possibility is too simple and I know you'd have checked...loose lug bolts?

Default I had a friend who had something similar on a Subaru...

It ended up being a tierod or balljoint.

Can't remember which...
