OK guys after looking around a little I see that a 4-wire universal is recommended because of the signal ground wire addition to the standard 3-wire set up. This makes a great deal of sense here in the salt belt as I assume that almost every connection is corroded somewhat by now and that the 'ground' on the exhaust is probably about the worst possible.
Through UAP/NAPA the universal Bosh 4-wire is $129, the universal 3-wire is $90, and the 3-wire 1990 Ford Taurus is $69.
Does anyone have a good part number for a cheaper 4-wire solution?

Bosch #15729 universal kit comes with waterproof connectors for splicing into the existing wiring harness. Run the extra ground to one of the ground connections on your engine. Give you a good chance to clean up that connection too. Boxerfan..
I just did the 4 wire (I got it from Advanced Auto Parts Online it's 82.95) and I made the local branch match their own online price.
The Bosch Number I used is 15733.
I ran the extra ground from the drivers strut tower ground, into the oe covering.
Today I had to re-take the E-test, and passed with flying colors. Originally 147 ppm (limit of 100), this pass, 39.. sweet.. Here's the pict:
