Default Odometer help, please-- there is NO infor. . .

There is NO information that I could find on this forum! Also, NOTHING in the Haynes manual, either (arrived today-- yipee!) How can I fix it? Is it fixable? Does not work, and was told that the previous owner had mentioned something about adjusting some plastic clip or something. Thanks!

Default Re: Odometer help, please-- there is NO infor. . .

Is your speedo/tach working fine? If not, check if cable behind the cluster is attached correctly.
If they are working fine,...pull the cluster out and try to somehow reach to the gears that are responsible for the odometer reading. Try to move them manually. Also, look for missing/broken parts.
ON my car, one of the gears was stuck somehow and my odometer stopped working for 5k or so miles. I finally took the cluster out, remover some parts, and when i reached to the gears i pushed them with a screw driver a little. (I tried to rotate them manually too - not with much success) When i put the cluster back, everything worked fine. Still works, after 55k miles. They were stuck when i was going from 99,999 to 100,000 miles.
If nothing helps, then go to a local junkyard and get a new "used" cluster for cheap. In local junk yards here, i always see instrument clusters sitting in Audi 5ks.
I really wish there are some for Audi 100/200 too.

I hope this helps a little.

Didn't find it I guess because I didn't search back far enough. Thanks!
