I have had my '89 200 siting in storage for the past 9 months, just got it out. The oil was low (at bottom of mark on dipstick) when driving home and low oil indicator light came on...so I pulled over, topped up with oil, and then seemed okay. Today, same thing happended, but I check and the oil level was okay. What I did notice that my oil pressure gauge was hoving just above 2 and then dipping below 2 (that's when the warning light comes on). It used to be always between 2 and 6 (mostly pegged up at 6). Like I say, the oil level seems fine...what is this?

Going thru the PO's service records on the 89 200 I just bought it did the exact same thing during one Calgary winter. The tech's diagnosed it at the time as the oil pressure switch shorting due to the cold.

They couldn't re-create the problem in the shop and it apparently just went away on it's own...apparently that particular Gremlin found a girlfriend while at the dealership and moved out.

Try cleaning up the contacts on the various senders and see what happens.

If you're oil pressure is lower than normal and it's been in storage, I'd change the oil. Possibly you've had some degradation and condensation happening, thinning things out as well.
