1989 200q,when i unlock the car from drivers side all doors get unlocked, clicking starts to come from passengers side kick panel and car doesn't start. That must be alarm kicking in.
Only way that car would start is if i use key to unlock passengers side door first and then unlock rest of doors by unlocking them with key from drivers side.
I am guessing that cause might be some broken wires in passenger side front door,i have checked door jamb and couldn't find any broken wires and wires on inside of door look fine.
I don't really have much electrical experiance so i am hoping for some help.
Years ago my mechanic disconnected horn for alarm that is on left side of trunk.

except if i disconnect battery and reconnect again only then passenger door locks and unlocks all doors for 1-2 days and then only locks passenger door.
Also, my power locks "work" like this for about 4-5 weeks and then i would disconnect battery and they will "work" again.

I had to lock the car on the passenger side because if I locked it from the drivers side, I wouldn't hear the little 'beep', and the alarm would not arm itself. If I locked the car from the passenger side, but opened it from the drivers side, the alarm would go off until I reset the passenger side lock with the key. Once I fixed the wires in my drivers door jamb, the problem went away, for obvious reasons not always so apparent to me....
Good luck!

So you probably have broken wiring in both door jambs. When I replaced ALL the wires in my 200q20v's driver doorjamb, I found almost all the wire insulations were beginning to break down and some of those wrapped separately into bundles inside the main bundle had already broken. A peek at the wiring by pulling back the rubber bellows really gives no indication of the condition of wires inside. I've replaced door wires in Audis and VWs, and the wires inside the doors or inside the cabin always look good.
