Default Re: I can't see the car idling if that's the problem. I still say it sounds like a shot MM.

You guys, I almost can't believe it myself, BUT I checked the intercooler intake side AND found exactly what I've expected: the foamy insert out of the plastic device between turbo and IC GOT SUCKED right into the IC and severely blocked the flow!! the only hose I didn't have off last weekend, aaaarrrggghhh... Sorry to "disappoint" you boxer, but the MM is fairly new as well, almost no porosity and very pliable still. It idled fairly good because there was a little cross section in the IC left unclogged. That's a big relieve for me, although it's almost too easy doesn't mean that it idles and runs like I would like it to now, but it's drivable again. Of course another issue cam to light right away, now I have slight overboost problems, seeing a little more than 2 bar abs. and the ECU cuts out, so I guess I'm off checking the wastegate and peripherals next..and of course a thorough leak test to get that out of the picture..plus finally strapping or changing the IC and getting some kind of recirculation valve for the shock waves..
thanks for your attention gentlemen!

Default Well found! I still can't believe the car could idle with all that in the way.

The intake must really be a poor design that only just meets the air flow for hight rpms.

I'm never dissapointed that someone gets their car running. Well done.

Good luck!
