Default QLCC Chip Problems

Undertook installing a qlcc chip today and have been having hell. I would say my soldering ability and instalation job are both about average. After i got the chip installed my car wouldn not start. Pin 4 on the ecu harness has 12v when the igition on. I found some inconsistencies in my soldering job and fixed them. Using a multimeter i checked the pins between the chip, and the traces from them to make sure there was continuity in the right places. Now, my car still wont start, but when i turn on my ignition the wgfv goes crazy and i hear a relay clicking on and off. I have no idea on where to start diagnosis on this problem, and no place around here to get a spare ecu. Any help would be great, i have searched the forums with little luck on this issue

Default I know someone looking, what are you asking? AND for the original q:

These are very tricky to solder in, you need a good solder/desolder gun with a pump to suck out the old solder--also needs to be low-power!
If you overheat the board or burn the traces you may mess up the ecu...Try to de-solder/re-solder the socket to the board...Good luck.

Default It is VERY important to gaurd against static discharge when chipping...

One of the small sparks that you feel when walking across a carpet and touch a door **** can fry an ECU.

If the WGFV is going nuts perhaps you cracked one of the connectors to the pressure xducer.

Default Always use a socket

If you're going to be in there soldering anyway, might as well solder a socket into place. Ease of installation/replacement of the ECU, and you lessen change frying the EDU from too much from the iron, bending pins, etc...
