Default Re: Not a good idea to put low octane gas in a 1.8T or any turbo/suparcharged car.

Still no problems with either current owned cars using regular and I have 90,000 miles between the two of them. Never a check engine light upon hard acceleration either and I think you are supposed to get that if timing is retarded quite far. My old 5000 CSq which was also turbo did turn on the check engine light accelerating hard uphill in California & Nevada in the summer with the AC on.

Question for you, on the cluster photo of yours, what is the icon in dead center (between ABS & check engine? Thanks!

Default Hmmm, i'm not sure what that dummy light is for?

It's just a pic I got off some website. The Urquattro forum would likely know though as it's from a sport quattro.
