Hi guys, i mostly live over on the 80/90/coupe forum but i have a 3b question so i figured i'd visit you guys(the experts!). I'm in the middle of swapping a 3b motor into my 1988 90Q and i noticed that my 3b harness is missing the Electronic Engine Power Supply Relay (#1 in the 3b Aux. Relay panel). My friend is doing the same swap and his is also missing this relay. The Bentley manual states that this relay is not installed on all vehicles? So my real question is...do i even need this relay or can i just run without it?
Maybe one of you guys with a 1991 200TQ could just take a peek at your Aux. Relay panel and tell me if your #1 relay is present? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

When I swapped the 3B into my Coupe Quattro, I was perplexed by the same thing. My harness did not have this relay either. If yours doesn't have it, it doesn't need it.

I recently completed the swap into my UR Quattro and the relay was not there or necessary to run the motor.

RB-200 20v

The #1 relay in my 91 200q20v is not present.
