Default Question, re: my over boost problem...

Well, I finally got around to trying to find the problem, very confusing, looking at or for all the stuff mentioned to check.

Think I need to get some more tools...

Anyway, I seem to remember someone mentioning something about checking a hose and if it was mushy then it should be replaced...question is I found a fairly large hose on the driver side of the engine, that seems to be routed to the turbo thru some T's and elbows.

The part number is 034 193 221D, ETKA just identifies it as a Breather Hose, is this the hose that was being referred to.

I am going to replace it, since it doesn't seem right that it should be that soft and mushy anyway, but I thought I would check.

TIA...

Cheers

The hose that was mentioned earlier for you to check is the large fabric hose coming out of the bottom of the wastegate. It usually rots out inside the fabric and will give you some problems...

As far as the hose you gave a part# for, I think that is just the breather hose. It would not cause overboost problems. It would probably cause some slight idle issues if it was cracked/torn.

BTW, that hose is fairly soft when it's new...
