quick question

after new plugs, air filter, fuel filter and cleaning the isv, my 91 100 decided to idle somewhere in the vicinity of 3k. so, i disconnected the isv and change the set screw on the throttle linkage hinge so i now have a rock solid idle of 800 give or take 50. my question is - will i have any problems running without the isv connected? the low idle is sure a nice change - 3k at a redlight with an auto was just too scary for me in day after t'giving traffic.

sorry to take up unnecessary space - i checked old posts (which i should have done to begin with) and found others who have done the same thing evidently without ill effects. gotta love a type 44!

You can get away with it. You will just lose idle control for AC set at high. It's supposed to speed up idle due to electrical load. Also cold start idle up.
I don't think my ISV is working. I never feel it running. High AC doesn't trigger an increase in idle rpm either. But my cold start idle is at 1000 rpm and normal rpm is at 800. Car has run fine this way for over 3 years.

thanks. yeah, i noticed that a/c on to defog windows sucks the rpms down, but nothing a well modulated foot on the accelerator can't fix. seems to accelerate smoother without isv connected.
