You can try 1-1-1-1. Otherwise, a dealer should be able to get you the code if you pull out the radio and record all the information on any stickers on it and have your VIN with proof of ownership. That's provided the radio is original to the car.

ive tried 1111 and 1234 dealer codes, no go.
dealer said i have to bring car in so they can retrieve code and they would charge by the hour.
i thought maybe a code from another factory radio might unlock it.

Any other codes would be specific to that radio, I'd think. I have four radios, all with different codes.

This is a four digit code to unlock radio.

The first number is 1. So if you want to keep trying you have only 1000 number to go through
1000-1999 and since you already tried two numbers already 1111 and 1234 then there are only 998 numbers left.

You can try my radio code 1244

Now don't come by my house and steal my radio

:-P

The dealer should be able to retrieve the codes with the WIN, if it is the original radio.
I doubt that the original code was 1 2 3 4, as the dealer told you.
Go see another dealer.
Good luck!

Actually you need the radio serial number more than the VIN number. The VIN number is used to verify the radio serial number, but many radio over the years have been replaced by dealer under warranty work.

The dealer will remove the radio and lookup the radio code through the serial number. It cost about $50 bucks. for about 20 minutes of work.

ifish4ever ... I have tried before and found a way to bypass the code. Ive done it many times but I've only done this on a tape deck for a 1987 5000 S. It requires removing the bottom plate on the deck while its plugged in to get past the code. Also if you disconnect or get a dead battery, the process needs to be repeated, also since its a rather crude method, I cannot gurantee that you will not fry something. Like I said ive done it before many times, just wanted to let you know. If anyone is interested let me know... Ill get some pictuers up of what you need to do.

Ill grab some pictures of the bottom of the circut board ... it might be best to solder on the 2 wires to the trace points, and attach them to a small button you can simply 'tap' .. and mount it somewhere on the dash. Basically the procedure is to temporarly close the circut between the two points while its plugged in. Random characters sometimes are displayed on the screen, basically try it once, and then hit power, try again and hit power.

Anyways its worked good for me in the past

will take some pictures saturday night / sunday

I'll include the picture of the front of the deck just to be sure we're working with the same one.
