Default Radio question

My question regards the 89-91 Audi 100's or 200's with the Delta or Gamma head units. What is that single brown wire on the back of the head unit with a single blade connection for? Was helping a friend mess with his stereo in his 90 100 with a Delta NON BOSE system and it seems it does nothing that is noticable. We plugged it back in but I'm just curious. I thought it was constant power so the radio works with the key off but even if you leave that wire disconnected the radio still works.

Maybe ground is what I was thinking but it works even if left unplugged. It's not the antenna as I know which one those are. That radio has two antenna wires front and rear then the three plug harness and then the mystery single blade brown wire in the center that I'm questioning.

I guess it's not important but I'm a very inquisitive person when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Default Brown is usually a ground..

But undoing the ground on the radio may not make much difference.

Radio may still be grounded through the harness, or possibly through an antenna shield or some other mysterious way...

It is a ground wire. Goes straight to the metal chassis

Default Make sures that those ground wires aways tight and srcure and you are not pulling

Chassis ground from a source othet than what is intended. This will allow the proper, corrrect grounding source and rating. This will
correct wiring may save your compomnetry in vechicle or a domr estwill.
