fuse #16 blows when rear defogger switch is attached - pushed in or out does not matter - switch removed fuse stays ok.
This happened after I pulled steering column as my low beam randomly quits, is there a connection? Or just one of those times things happening at once?
Could it be the wiring?? or the switch?? Can I test the switch?
Thanks

it is pretty easy to gently pry out of the dashboard without scratching or marring the plastic around the switch. Don't be surprised to see the plastic back slightly melted if the switch has shorted out. I have had several switches short out, so I got used to fixing with a new switch.

I took the switch apart - did not find a burned spot etc - I guess the only way to find out is to try a new switch
Thanks

with the steering column work. And grounded it.
Pull off the switch. Remove the fuse. Probe the pins of the connector. I bet a +12V line is reading ground.
