I'd suspect ign switch or small wire from ign sw to starter solenoid

Default Similar problem, resolved with new solenoid...89 200TQ

Took off starter and had it tested. Worked fine on the bench. The rebuilder and I agreed, the amount of corrosion which builds up mixed with any other symptoms, ie. corrosion, bad contacts, old wiring, etc caused mine to fail...
had them put new solenoid section on for $21.00 and has worked flawlessly for months now.
If you can, yank it off. Hope your a strong sumbitch. I had to use cheater pipe on my floor jack. Jacked up the cheater resting against my ratchet. For second bolt used weight of vehicle coming down on cheater/ratchet. Might be worth the 10-20 bucks they'll charge to take it off for you.

Good luck.

Default Re: recent no start , no cranking get full electrical but no cranking , then 10 minutes

My old 90 200 (now my youngest sons) had a similar issue. Eventually it would no longer start. changed the ign switch prior to starting troubleshooting, wasn't the problem, but turned out the switch was broken anyway. Started tracing from the starter back... Cut a access point in the big wire loom sheathing directly in front of the radiator and walaaa, wire was broken. Towards the "end" it would sometimes start, finally it gave out completely. Spliced in a new section (PITA, pulled headlight for better access). Works fine now...

thanks, I'll keep that in mind in case the trouble persists.

could be a bad starter solenoid - it will stick when warm but let it cool a bit and it will function
