I'm replacing the torn boots on the outer cv joints. I bought a replacement kit. It came with two 80g tubes of grease. How much grease should I be putting into the outer cv joint?
Thanks
Steve

Found my answer. Extra grease is to pack the boot with a "reservoir" of grease. No one seems to know what the exact amount is but a little too much is better than not enough ;-) Too much may leak out or damage the boot.

I'm ten miles away from my Bentley for 84-88 5000s so I can't quote the spec; when I r&r'd CV boots on 5000s I found the grease volume specs in the 84-88 5000 Bentley shop manual.
I'd guess that specs are available from the V8 factory shop manual.
