reverse lights come on while driving
my reverse lights have come on again while i was driving and the 5a fuse controlling the interior lights blew.
i thought it might be the three wires behind the distributor that had cracks, they may have been touching so i wrapped each of them individually with electrical tape but the reverse lights came on again.
any ideas?

Check the wiring harness at the trunk hinge...
These are famous for cracking and shorting out. Bet you'll find a broken/grounded wire back there.
BTW, what does KIA stand for? I know in military parlance it means Killed In Action, but I'm assuming that's not it )

Re: yeah, i noticed when i opened the trunk the reverse lights went off
i'll have to check the wires back there tomorrow, before it's all over i'm going to have to rewire this entire car.
a friend of mine said this car is a hobby to me, i'm inclined to agree with him. i didn't have anymore 5a fuses tonight so i had to slip a 10a fuse in there so i could get home with speedometer lights, hopefully that doesn't damage anything.
is it likely that cracked wires in the boot would blow the fuse controlling the dash lights?
i always thought kia were russian cars until a couple of years ago, i never knew what it meant until i read the owners manual to my rio. the first page says something like kia means "to come up out of asia to the world" in korean.
