Default Rigging the afterun pump and fan to come on...

Well, this afternoon I rigged my afterrun pump and fan to come on. To do so I have to do it from the inside of the engine bay. It will run until I undo the connection. Ghetto, but it works...

What I'm wondering is: Has anyone rigged one up with a toggle switch on the dash? Where did you splice it in...?

I want it to operate the fan and pump until I turn it off...

I've exhausted myself and knowledeg trying to get it to work right...

Default Nah, the fan works correctly while....

the car is running...

It's just that on shutdown it doesn't come on with the afterun turbo pump like it should do...

The relay's good, the pumps good, the sensors good and so is the fuse. i can't find a problem in the wiring either...

I don't want to fry my turbo!

Default Perhaps the fan resistor is bad.

The fan is supposed to run at its 1st speed setting (lowest speed).

With the car running, the only time the fan is running at this speed is when the AC initially turns on. All other situations, the fan is either #2 or #3 speed.

Probe the fan's resistor pack with a voltmeter to see if it's getting voltage from the relay.
This will show if it's the resistor or a break in the wiring upstream.

Default I did consider that, but...

then I thought to myself, why would the afterrun pump not work then? That, ASFAIK, is in no way connected to the resistor for the fan...

Also, if I cross the wires at the after run sensor the fan and pump do work so that makes think the resistor is fine...

And lastly the first stage fan comes on with the A/C...

Gotta be the wirng somewhere? won't matter after today when I rig it

Thanks for trying...
