Default Screeching sound from front drivers side while

Kind of a metal rubbing sound coming from the front drivers side tire area. Only notice it when I am driving 40mph+. Any ideas?

I duno I gota fix the brakes and take it for another drive. So it could just be something touching the rotor or possibly the wheel bearing? If i jack the car up and the wheel jiggles around it's the bearing right?

Default Wheel bearings can make noise even though they don't move.

If it does jiggle it is for sure the bearing, but I had bad bearings and this problem was misdiagnosed by two audi shops as bad transmission bearings. I didn't believe that they knew what was going on, so I changed them myself. Problem solved. Don't trust those mechanics. Your instincts are better. BTW, replacing the bearings was a PITA.

Try tightening the axle nut first (not sure which car you have, spec is dependent, most 5k/200 are 148-207lb/ft). I've seen quite a few of them loose, before they are tight the bearing has slop in it, it's supposed to. I'd be looking at the heat shield for the brakes as well. Wheel bearings is usually a constant groan that gets louder (loud on left turns bad right bearing and vv) during turning
