Seat Fuse and Climate Control..!

1: Not having passengers in my 88 wagon meant that I didn't have to care about the pass seat not working ... but, I was generally checking all the fuses today, and discovered a 15 amp that was blown and replaced it, then thought, what if that was the passenger seat fuse? Turns out that's what it was, being on the side of the box, I thought it was a spare-whoever had the car before me had put the wrong amp fuse in that spot.!
2:Got a climate control off Ebay, although it says it's for the 88, the connectors are different. What gives? Can anyone out there use this one? The connectors are 'split', unlike the one in my wagon, that appear to be one piece.

I have an extra climate control unit for my 87 5ktq, lemme check the connections on the back tomorrow and if they aren't the split ones then you can have it.

The earlier climate control system was (I think) entirely analog; its control head included a rear defrost button. This system was superseded by a digital climate control system whose control head doesn't include the rear defrost button. (Audi moved the rear defrost switch to the console and added two blower speed control buttons to the rightmost end of the control head's row of buttons.) I'm not sure exactly when they superseded the older system; I thought that it was mid-1986. The control head front panels for the two systems look similar but can be differentiated by the presence or absence of rear defrost and blower speed buttons.
The electrical connectors for the two generations' control head and climate control programmer are incompatible (for a good reason, I'm sure).

Well...the rear defrost is on a separate switch, in the dash. And both of the units have low/high blower speed settings on the front panel. Hmm?

I'm going over to where I have my stash of car parts today, I'll email you if the unit is the right one, shipping it shouldn't be too much at all, I just want to move it, kinda getting crowded in the garage.
