Say what you want about older Audi's with the mentality of most Honda owners, I am the guy who has used the paper fastners on a previous 86 Audi 5K, and a VW Quantum. My 87 5K is the latest with the paper fastners. Sorry to say, but I have better things in life to do then put a lot of time in redoing headliners. You can only invest so much time on Audis and VWs built in the 1980's. At some point, all became old cars, with function becoming more important then looking pristine. My mentality is that you can love old cars just so long, then it is time to move on, regardless of brand label.

Its ok rooster, you can take it personally. That's the difference between a true Audi enthusiast and someone like you. If you truly feel the way you do about old Audi's, why join an enthusiast forum? No matter, hackers like you will just drive the value of my cars up further and also keep me supplied with parts for years to come ;-)

My '90 Audi 200 Turbo Quattro Avant is as smooth as my girlfriend's 2007 Mk5 Jetta, way more powerful, with much more personality. Yeah, I gotta wrench it more often, but these cars just rock! (and were way ahead of their time)
