Default Yes, two options that can be combined...............

The classic move is too cut the shaft and re-thread. However, you can also purchase a short shift kit from blauparts.com. It's around $40. and is simply one half of the ball portion of the shifter that spaces the upper shift rod an inch or so higher. The resulting leverage makes for a shorter throw. Combine the two and it get's pretty sporty. Hope this helps:^) JB

Default i did this...and a little more. I like it a lot. No more rowing between gears...

$39 from blau. I've been thinking bout trying to make my own some how. When you get their kit, it's a little frustrating the price for what you get. After i got it i was tempted to make my own and return theirs.

The idea is to raise the leverage point for the shifter. so the ball at the bottom needs to come up.

Default I made mine own.... Super short throws, like an inch between positions

As you can see from the picture, i just made my own pivot out of Delrin, and then welded a piece onto the top of the rod. THe shifter can actually be made quite a bit shorter by simply putting a spacer of like 3/4 of an inch at the bottom of the rod, next to the actual pivoting ball. just slot it so the reverse still will decompress, but it moves the stock plastic piece up 3/4 of an inch and makes the pivot 3/4 inch higher for a shorter throw You can not make the spacer thicker and retain the stock "bearing" b/c the rod linkage will hit the tunnel if more than 3/4 of an inch is used at the stem. by making my own piece i moved the pivot up about 2 inches thus making the throw tiny. I wish i would have NOT cut my rod down though, it just kindof sucks now b/c it feels like my hand is just jammed in a little hole. I think i may weld something back on.

Anyways, HTH or anyones short shifter endevors..

Hank
