I found a 1989 200 Turbo Quattro for sale but it needs a new clutch. Anybody have any thoughts or recommendations? What would be a fair price for parts and labor? Is the fix within the realms of do it yourself? What usually goes wrong on these cars? Not sure what the mileage is.

Considering you have a 1990 V8 Quattro, you should expect pretty much the same problems (I'd assume). Any by problems, I mean electrical gremlins. Wait... You have an 87 5000CS TQ - That's the same damn car really. I mean, there were some updates to the interior, but it's pretty much the exact same car. Same motor. Most parts would likely swap over. As far as the cluth, I'm not sure. When my clutch went out on my 84 4K Quattro, I had a shop do it (~$550 parts and labor). Many shops quoted me upwards of $2k, so call around. I haven't done an Audi clutch myself, so I can't comment on the difficulty. I have done transversely mounted FWD and longitudinally mounted RWD/4WD, but never an AWD. Perhaps someone else can chime in

Recently priced a clutch for my 91 200 Avant.
Range was from $1700 to $1850. This also included a rear main seal and anything else
that should be done when trans is removed.
I've seen parts only prices around $650 for
plates, throwout bearing and slave. Some shops
will install your parts, but there is no warranty.
