I'm asking, because on my older V8 looks like this thingy removed long time ago or even wasn't installed at all and I don't feel any problems.
But on my '93 V8 I hear consistent squeak on my stereo when car engine is runing and with the same CD player and amplifier in older V8 wasn't any squeak at all.
What function does this alternator capacitor ??
P.S. Bose sound system is complete removed.....

aaaaaaaaaahhhaaaaa, so in my case it is not needed anymore, because I installed new big capacitor and that one from Siemens looks really bad with rough surface, like swelled from insade in few places.............
