Default Small brake light in the IP does not go off

Hi all.
The little light ( hand-brake, pressure) in the IP will not go off.
It is not he one on the dynamic display, is the light "static" one.

I have changed the pressure switch (new one) at the master cylinder, and checked the hand-brake switch, which works fine.
Then I searched around the forum and saw something about switching the cables at the pressure switch, but I still got the light...

Next step is the "bomb" ( this week) for a used one.

But what if it doesn't go off? Should I go for the master cylinder??
Am I in the right direction? Anything specific about this issue? Should I look for something else?

Thanks

Which year, model? Some are sensitive to the installation of the cap on the reservoir for the power boost system.

Hope you're dealing with THIS GUY regarding the used hydraulic pressure accumulator.

The light is not from the bomb. If it were, it would go out when the engine starts. It would come back on when you reduced pressure in the bomb by using the brakes.

To test bomb function, run the engine, turn it off, pump the brake pedal. If you get under 10 pumps before the pedal gets hard, you need to recharge/replace the bomb. A new bomb should give 30 or more pumps. Ten to 15 means your bomb has started losing its Nitrogen charge, but remains reliable for ordinary braking circumstances.

Check the wiring to the reservoir cap (Pentosin reservoir, not brake fluid reservoir). You said you'd already checked the wiring to the brake fluid reservoir.

Pentosin reservoir cap hasn't being checked.
Does it mean that the light could be on because of the pentosin level?
Or else cap wiring?

Tested the bomb as you describe and it just fine ( about 20 hits)

I did check the wiring for the master cylinder pressure switch only.

Will look into that......

Thanks

I'm not sure which brake light you mean...

red idiot light is park brake switch.

(/!\)
One is low hydraulic system pressure, or low pentosin.

(O)
Is low brake fluid or worn pads.

Grenade with an x through it, surrounded in brackets, is brake lights.

IIRC.
of course if the wiring or sensors are shot it will throw the errors too...

Th one I am talking about is the one bellow the dynamic-with-symbols screen.

I am talking about the gone that lits when you pull up you're hand brake.

Mechanics is going to change the "bomb" for a used one and he will check the pentosin reservoir cap and wiring.....

Hope "something" will be Ok.....

Thanks

It means if the cap and inner parts that sense the pentosin level are not installed correctly, you'll get the red brake light as a warning of a low pentosin level, even if the level is OK. On the V8 reservoir, which uses basically the same level sensor arrangement, it's particularly a problem when all the parts aren't correctly inserted into the reservoir. I'm suggesting it may also be a problem in the 200 reservoir level sensor.

Why are you replacing a known functional bomb with an unknown used one?

Used "bomb" is much newer thant the one I have in the car.

Last guest would be the reservoir cap, see what happens. I am still waiting for a phone call from the mechanic to see what happened with this...

Could it be something wrong in the IP?

Thanks

As far as i know, the idiot light that says "BRAKE" is for the park brake.

Actually, i think on my car it says 'park brake', might be different on US cars though.
So I would assume defective handbrake switch, or wiring, etc. not an issue...

I went out for a smoke and took a pic, this is how it is on canadian (and euro, i think) cars. The idiot light is soley for the park brake, as far as i know.

Now, on the other hand, if you have the flashing triangle, that could be a problem.
