insurance estimate yesterday. $383.63... Oh wait, actually as I just typed that line, it gets better, my claims adjuster just called me and told me she was going to give me an extra $60.00 for the "two days repair time" I would have been without a vehicle. So, a grand total of $443.63... sent in check form, to my door for a BROKEN TAIL LIGHT AND MINOR SCUFF ON THE BUMPER. Because I want to do the "labor" (AKA replace rear tail light and live with the little scuff on the bumper) myself. Why thank you USAA... you just chipped my car =). You have to love the solid type 44 rear end (not to mention I was only hit at about 5 MPH, not even enough to bounce my head around.)

I'm now taking applications for people who want to rear end me. If ever you feel the need to rear end someone, I'll be the first on the list.

I got rearended about two months ago at about 5mph too. Unfortunatly my car was painted a month prior so it did chip alot of paint off my bumper but I received a check for $463 last week. So when I get the urge I can take the bumper off, sand it down again and then have it painted for about $100.

I kind of feel like a shmuck because I know that the repair to the tail light can be done for about $20.00, yet I got 25 times that amount. Oh well, I'll be happy for now, but it will come around to bite me in the *** some day, no doubt.
