Default so what needs to be done now that the NF is on its way etc

obviously pull the mc head, inspect damage to pistons and hope the damage is just minor, a few nicks and nothing serious... anyways the NF is already rebuilt, it was done about 5k miles ago, ported with new guides and springs, exhaust valves (that need to be swapped with my mc sodium filled valves), cam followers, studs, milled .030" and cam replaced with blau 272.
i've been told the exhaust manifold and the valve cover from the mc have to be swapped with the NF stuff, so does this mean i run an mc exhaust manifold gasket, and an mc valve cover gasket? i think the vc gaskets are the same? these are the the little things i've been thinking about, intake mani. gasket? NF or mc? I'm assuming all mc things since its on an mc motor, exhaust valves from the mc go on, any other tips, btdt's, recoomendations. etc thanks

Hate to rain on your parade, but are the exhaust valves still good on your MC head?? Since you already know that there is no compression, then you also know that you have bent valves in your MC head.

First, get rid of the 272 cam. Use stock or MC2...

Second swap in your sodium EV's...

Third, make your life easy by just ordering everything for a MC engine.

BTW, the MC and the NF share:

Exhaust gasket
Intake gasket
Valve cover gasket
Headbolts

Etc...

You WILL have to get a MC headgasket(or AAN)the NF is different.

Swapped valve should be lapped to ensure seal

Default be careful when lapping sodium valve

you can not use waterbase grits. And do not try cleaning them with water. Keep the valves away from any water.

See link below for more information about sodium valves.<ul><li><a href="http://www.audifans.com/archives/1997/10/msg02610.html">Sodium Valves</a></li></ul>
